Autodidact.
Many important contributions to psychedelic research are made by people who choose not to enter full-time education and prefer to study the field independently. The late Valentina and R. Gordon Wasson, whose research linked the identity of the Vedic Soma with the age-old traditional use of the Amanita mushroom, were mycological 'amateurs' whose work has become legendary in psychedelic research.
PsyComp's autodidact section provides lecture material on psychedelics and hallucinogens, either sourced online or donated* by researchers and educators. Where possible, author's names and details are credited. If you are, or know the identity of, one of the 'unknown' authors please contact us (admin@psycomp.org) and we will be happy to apply the credit. Please contact us also, if you would prefer your material not to appear on this site, or have material you would like to contribute. This section will also contain links to online courses and textbooks in order to promote psychedelic home-education.
We are currently sourcing video material for our PsyComp Academic Channel on YouTube
